Originally from Excelsior, Minnesota, Arick Wierson's career has taken him to four different continents. Since late 2009, Arick has been in Luanda, Angola, where he helped launch the country's first private television network, TV Zimbo, and later opened the country's first modern department store, the Luanda Fashion Center. Previous to his work in Africa, Arick was the driving force behind NYC TV and the man entrusted by New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg to run NYC Media Group, the largest local media organization in the United States.
Arick is a six-time Emmy-Award winning Television and Media Executive. As a former senior media advisor and political aide to Bloomberg, Investment Banker, and Seasoned Entrepreneur, Arick brings a wide-ranging set of skills to any Corporate, Entrepreneurial or Public Sector setting. Arick has industry knowledge spanning Broadcast Television & Radio, Communications & PR, Social Media, Politics & Government, Finance, and Retail.
An Engaging Public Speaker and Seasoned Media Spokesman, Arick is bilingual in Portuguese and English and speaks fluent Spanish. Arick received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, and he holds a Master's Degree in Economics from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil.
Arick splits his time between is residences in Luanda (Angola), New York City, and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
